8 Voice Choir

This vocal ensemble has four males and four females in octaves. Introduced in 1970 with the Model 400, this sound was an immediate smash hit with various progressive rock groups of the early and mid-70's. Tony banks of Genesis fame employed it frequently for "Selling England By The Pound;" Rick Wakeman's "Hallelujah Chorus" was a live Yes staple; the choir was also used in a jazz setting for Jan Hammer's "First Seven Days." The female voices in the mix extend across the entire keyboard, but the male voices repeat in the last octave with the second octave.
