Les with the original EMI built tape cutting machine. The 10 in. reel to the left fed out the 1 in. tape. This tape was then cut into two 3/8ths in. pieces with a 1/4 in. piece of tape coming off and being fed through the tube into the blower apparatus at the bottom. The two 3/8ths pieces were then wound onto two separate reels at the right. This machine is now owned by the Museum of Science in London along with the original tape recorder, a Mk II and a M300. The tape machine that I use for the Mellotron Archives tapes is the one used by Mellotronics in London.
